With the League of Ireland season fast drawing to a close, we're set for an intriguing title race. Dublin rivals Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers are set to go head-to-head in a fascinating battle. Bohs, against all odds now lead the league by just one point following Rovers' spectacular implosion.
The Hoops led the defending champions by a massive seven points at one stage but after defeats to Dundalk, UCD, Bohs and an unbelievable 2-1 defeat at the hands Sporting Fingal, that lead has since vanished.
Here's a look at how I think both teams will fair and who will be crowned champions after the final two games of the 2010 season.
Bohemians:
Current Position: 1st
Manager: Pat Fenlon
Key Player: Brian Shelley. Started the season slow, but has once again became the rock at the heart of Pat Fenlon's defence.
Remaining Fixtures: Galway United (H) and Dundalk (A)
Prediction: 1st. With games against Galway and Dundalk to go I can't see the champions slipping up again. Six points out of six and a third successive title at Dalymount Park.
Shamrock Rovers:
Current Position: 2nd
Manager: Michael O'Neill
Key Player: Gary Twigg. Still scoring freely for O'Neill's men, despite carrying injuries for large parts of the season.
Remaining Fixtures: Drogheda United (H) Bray Wanderers (A)
Prediction: 2nd. It looks like The Hoops will have to wait to win their first league title in 16 years. Largely down to their recent performances which manager Michael O'Neill described as "suicide."
